PLS sets the standard. 06/09/07
As a leading provider of total solutions for returnable packaging, Packaging Logistics Services (PLS) is a step closer to achieving one of the highest international environmental standards after successfully acquiring ISO 9001 for its pallet washing operation and all other associated services.
PLS, which specialises in providing bespoke packaging rental and management services to the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, has been awarded the coveted quality management standard for its pallet wash in Normanton, West Yorkshire.
“We’re delighted to have achieved ISO 9001,” said Paul Sutton, operations manager at PLS.
“As well as recognising all the hard work and effort our team puts into managing our quality system, it moves us closer to our ultimate goal of achieving ISO14001, which we’re currently working towards. Additionally, it demonstrates to customers our commitment to best practice and environmental responsibility.” |

The company also offers a number of added value services including inspection, repair and washing and utilises internet based tracking and management systems to ensure that customers maximise their packaging assets.
In addition to the rental and management services offered by PLS, customers can also benefit from fully integrated supply chain solutions provided by PLS’s sister company, TM Logistics, allowing customers a true one stop shop for all their logistics, warehousing and packaging requirements.
Mr Sutton continued: “Because of the nature of our work, it’s fair to say that PLS is hygienically challenged. That’s why it is critical we set the highest standards and we’re proud to be flying the quality flag.”
